David StoreyDavid Storey and Brent Butt joined forces to form Three Thirty Five Productions in a successful bid to bring the CTV series Corner Gas to life. Since that day, David has juggled his time between executive producing and directing the television series, as well as being a key producer of www.cornergas.com . The work has paid off; along with an average audience share of 1.52 million (Season 3) the series was nominated for an International Emmy in 2004, a Canadian Screenwriting Award in 2006, and has won six Gemini, five Leo and six Canadian Comedy Awards to-date. This year (2008) David received a Gemini Award nomination for Best Direction. He has also won two Leo Awards, three Canadian Comedy Awards and one Director's Guild Award for directing.
David has worked with some of Canada's brightest talents. This Canadian Music Video Award winner has directed music videos for artists as varied as Stompin' Tom Connors and Tom Cochrane as well as music specials featuring Amanda Marshall, Buffy Saint-Marie, Patti Labelle, Corey Hart, Mavis Staples, Rita McNeil and Anne Murray.
David was co-creator and director of the pilot for the Global series Blackfly, directed the The Sean Cullen Show and earned a Juno Award nomination for Tom Cochrane's music video 'Life is a Highway'. He's also directed many episodes of CBC's Comics. David is in the process of developing new projects to be produced post Corner Gas.
During his 'down time', David took the opportunity to direct two episodes of CTV's new comedy series, Alice, I Think as well as one of Robson Arms.
